  Zero PING LANs LAN Shortened

We have some sad news to report, unfortunately the Town of Aurora managed to double-book the event location.  Another group was booked in the same location from 8am to lunch on Sunday.  Even though we would have been using a different part of the building just having our event there at the same time as they were was not acceptable and we would have been required to vacate the location by midnight on Saturday.

We will still run the event at this location, however everyone must be out with their equipment by Saturday at midnight, even though the other group will not even be there until 8am.  We are going to try and see if the town can be reasoned with to allow us to stay past midnight.  We'll let you know as soon as we hear any further updates.

Zero PING LANs An Update on February LAN

vice writes "Hello all! We are pleased to announce we have hit our minimum ammount of players for this LAN so its officially GAME ON!!!

Please note there are only a few more days to take advantage of the prepayment discount, after January 28th the option ends and it will be $25 at the door.

Here are some of the details we have hashed out over the last while:

DORK Army will not be present but we will allow space for consoles, you will have to bring all your gear as the dork's gear will not be there.  We do have 2 projectors available for console tournament use if we get enough interested players.  Otherwise we will use the projectors for our own selfish needs!

The official tournament games we will be playing are COD MW2 for PC, CS 1.6 and CS SOURCE.  We will help you announce any other games you'd like to play at the event.

The COD MW2 Details are as follows:

5 vs. 5 round robin team deathmatch, top two teams will play best of 5 matches of search and destroy.

The CS Source and 1.6 Details are as follows:

5 vs 5 round robins starting saturday morning followed by double elimination rounds to finnish things off.

We will not be hosting any official console games however we're always open to running a tourney if there's enough local interest.

There will not be any food for sale other than pizza, POP, water and juice.  We will also have rockstar for sale.

Sleeping arrangements have not changed, we have the space for air mattresses if you choose to bring one or if you want the extra privacy/security bring a (small) tent.

Any questions let us know via email, look forward to seeing you at the LAN!

  Zero PING LANs Almost time...

Anonymous writes "Soon doors will be open for the LAN, we're working right now to get everything setup and working at the venue.

Online sign-up closed!  Please refrain from sending in any payments at this point using PAYPAL, please simply bring cash to the door.

Remember your headphones, mouse pads and if possible try and bring a network cable (30 feet or longer if you have one).  If you don't have a long network cable this just means you'll either need to sit near one of the switches/patch panels or will need to rent one from us.

NO FIGHTING!  If anyone gets into a fight at the event they will be immediately banned and will forfeit any tournaments they are taking part in.  No refund will be issued to anyone who breaks this rule and is ejected from the event.

Be sure to bring some extra cash for food and drinks.  We'll have some drinks available for sale at first and food will be coming a little later.  Look forward to seeing you all in a few hours.

vice writes "Hello all, henry is on holidays so I (Mike) will be taking the helm for the news while hes gone. We have 2 pieces of great news for all of our attendees! GIGABYTE has agreed to sponsor our next event with a very generous contribution of hardware and schwag. Our new friends at GIGABYTE have given us:

In addition to these top quality products GIGABYTE has also given us (and ultimately you!) an excellent collection of schwag to be given out at the event.

so what will these prizes be given out for you ask?? well that brings us to news part number two,

We are hereby announcing FREE TO JOIN FFA CS SOURCE TOURNAMENT!!The details of this tournament are as follows,

There will be NO TEAMS! if it moves, you shoot it.

Zero PING LANs Gigabyte and ThermalTake Sponsor LANapalooza 5

Anonymous writes "Zero PING Events would like to thank both Gigabyte and ThermalTake, each are sponsoring the upcoming LANapalooza 5 this July. Please take some time to check out their various excellent products!

Also, the tournaments section has been updated now to include the various games that we'll be having cash tournaments for. Please get your teams signed up when you have a moment. More details for each tournament will be posted soon, but for now you're at least able to sign up. We will be using rules based on CEVO for the Counterstrike 1.6 and Source tournaments. Quake 3 Rocket Arena 3 will be a 1 vs 1 double elimination tournament.

Round robins will start on Friday at 6pm for all three of the cash tournaments. More cash tournaments will be added provided there is sufficient interest shown.

  Zero PING LANs LANapalooza 5

Well it's been a little while now since the last update, we've been getting things ready for the next event this coming July 24th.  The prepayment discount for past attendees has passed, you can still get in with a discount to the next event however.  Currently if you prepay before July 1st it will only cost you $30 to get in to the LAN.  Otherwise the entrance fee will be $40 at the door.

Although not sorted we have demos from the last event posted.  We have yet had the time to sort through all the Source demos but they're all there for download.  Will be changing the process next time for Source so that demos get named appropriately as they're recorded.

We're on the lookout for more volunteers for the LAN's as we need more people to help improve the events.  Please let us know if you'd be able to help at all with the upcoming LAN, mainly we're looking for people who are not coming to actually compete in either the CS 1.6 or Source tournaments who'd be able to help administrate the tournaments with us.

We purchased a lot of new equipment for the last event (mainly power equipment) and as such our operating costs have gone down so we've passed the savings on in the form of reduced door fees.  We've not fully paid the equipment off yet, so for further events after LANapalooza 5 we'll be able to reduce the door fees even further.

Look forward to seeing you all again in July!

  Zero PING LANs Post-Event Action

So after taking some time to recover from the last event we'll be taking some time to organize all the pictures and demos from the LAN. If anyone has any pictures they have taken at the event that they'd like to submit to be posted please email them to us. Once we've compiled all the demos and the pictures from the event we'll get an after action report posted. We'd like to thank all our generous sponsors for the prizes they were able to donate to the event for our attendees.

Also, we've got another event coming up very soon. July 24th 2009 we'll be holding another LAN similar the one this past May 8th (some minor changes have been made). This event we've been able to reduce our prices for our entrance fee due to the acquisition of more equipment, thus we're passing the savings on! Attendees of the past LAN will be able to get into this event for only $20 (this option ends on June 1st so take advantage while you can), otherwise there is a $30 prepayment option which comes to an end on July 1st and finally at the door it will be $40. The tournament entry fees are still the same for Counterstrike 1.6 and Source.

More information and the after-action report for LANapalooza 2009 to come shortly!

Zero PING LANs Prepayment Now Closed

So the prepayment option for LANapalooza 2009 has come to an end. All remaining unpaid attendees must now pay the full entrance fee price at the door in cash ($50). Thanks for those who prepaid.

At this point we will not be able to issue refunds for the LAN.  If anyone who has paid is for some uncontrollable circumstances unable to make it to the event we will issue a credit towards the next LAN we will be having.
